“My child attends this school and, I must say that I am very disappointed with where the school is at the moment. There is hardly any parent participation, teachers are leaving left and right during the school year and at the end of the school year therefore ther is no continuety for the children. Children are suspended for the simplest of reasons and the list goes on and on. My child will not be going back to that school at the end of the school year glad to say.”

“As a teacher in the Bronx Charter school for Children, I do not believe it has a strong academic program. For instance, the writing program is said to be the Writers Workshop and yet there is no coach, no experienced teacher that is familiar with the workshop model, nor is the curriculum developer entirely familiar with the workshop model. Even so, they still say they have a workshop model. I did not become aware of what I had gotten myself into until after I accepted the position. When I took a tour of the school it reminded me of a project building, the downstairs classrooms have no windows. Recess is very limited, students have not as yet gone outside for the entire month of September of 2007. Unfortunately, my students are the ones that suffer the most and exhibit their frustrations through their behavior.”
