St. John School Reviews

St. Johns is an excellent elementary school with strict emphasis on academic curriculum as well a demanding emphasis on Spanish classes, PE, Computer skills, Art and PE. Each teacher demands hard work and dedication. They have an aftercare program that meets the needs of parents (extended day care), however, does not meet the needs of the children. There should be Computer, arts and crafts and sports during after care.

My child has been in this school for 8 years and has just graduated.I am proud with her sucess thanks to ST.JOhns

My child has been attending St. John for 5yrs and I have to say this school does an excellent job in making the children, as well as the parents, feel like part of a community. Mr. Vittiello is a wonderful, caring Principal who has proven that he can be a disciplinarian as well as a friend to the students. He commands respect without the need for demanding it. He knows all of the students and parents by name; an excellent touch that shows you and your children are not just faces in a crowd. If you are looking for a school where your child will receive just the right amount of attention and discipline St. John's is the school for you. The classes are NOT over-crowded and the staff communicates matters diligently and efficiently.

I am happy with the education the school has given my child, the principal does an excellent job, but the school needs more of a physical education program, the public school system has a more better program, from what I been told not only by my child but by other students theres no routine in exercises, and there is no school teams like baseball, basketball, volleyball, etc. These students do one excercise and then told to run around or play as they like, this is a very poor physical education program. The school has no extra curricular activities, like school plays, craft classes, I beleive they could use this,I beleive they need to open up to more activities like these and and concentrate on their physical education program more also, as far as the education goes its excellent.

The principal Mr.Vitiello is excellent. He is strict but he holds the best interests of the students at heart. He is truly dedicated and so is the rest of the faculty. I leave my child there in full confidence that they are getting the best education ever. Thanks Again.

I think this is a great school they offer after care and they really care about your kids. The only thing is that they are very stricked

It is a great school, although there is too much emphasis placed on uniformity. The tutiton is not outrageous, but they do go up about $20 per year.

My child has attended St Johns for several years now; I feel the change in administration was an affirmative one. I have noticed the aftercare program as well as the daily on-goings run much smoother than with the prior Principal. The curriculum is demanding, but the teachers are the real reward with the perseverance they provide to students (not just in my opinion). If I could change anything it would have to be adding a gym and auditorium, currently students have to use the cafeteria. Children need to exercise more than once a week to disburse all that pent up energy.

the ration of student to teacher in not 20:1. It is more like 30:1. It is outrageous how the school keeps taking new admissions when some classes already have 35! Where is the quality education!
